What is the CEAL-Festival?

The CEAL festival is a 2-day event bringing together changemakers from
all over Europe to engage in an immersion around the questions of the CEAL-network:

  • How can we activate entrepreneurial capacities in each individual and the community as a whole?
  • How do we stimulate community entrepreneurial initiatives in the community?
  • How do we close the ‘gap’ between education & society/communities?
  • How can a new form of (service learning) education around social and community entrepreneurship be integrated in formal education?

During this 2-day festival we will build, experience, question, answer and deepen European collaboration with 80 participants from a wide variety of sectors, including social entrepreneurs, educational institutions, community organizations, activists and NGO’s that are working on transforming society, education and sustainability.

Dialogues and workshops from renowned speakers as Philippe Van Parijs (Oxford University, UCL), Jonathan Dawson (Schumacher College), Peter Linde (Utrecht University, Kaos Pilots NL, Knowmads) and Maarten Desmet (University of the Common Good, NDVR)

Story behind the CEAL-network:

Since early 2015 the partners of the CEAL-network have been collaborating, believing that for facing current and future global challenges, we need to exchange and build innovative (international) collaborations sharing
inter-local solutions. Based on strong collective experiences with the Brazilian
Oasis Game community mobilization methodology, they started exploring how this
method could serve as a basis for community entrepreneurship and the new forms
of capacity building education for youth in communities, as well as in universities.

The CEAL festival is hosted by:

Act4Change from Belgium and co-organized by five other CEAL organizations from 5 countries, who have collaborated in the past year in running 6 entrepreneurship action learning pilots for youth that want to learn new ways of building collaborative community projects and businesses. On Saturday we will present the CEAL-guide, a process guide for non-formal education on entrepreneurship and community development
